THIS MEANS THE REGION 2 SCHEDULE DEADLINE FOR ENTERING THE CUPS WILL BE SUNDAY, MARCH 17, 2013.
A DRAW WILL BE HELD on MONDAY, MARCH 18th at 9PM EDT to determine who will play who in the first round and who will be hosting the match. We will go back to the original way in which we have played previously, meaning we will
play home and away. BE PREPARED TO PLAY OUR FIRST GAME ON SATURDAY, MARCH 30th at 2:00 PM. All games will be played
at 2 pm (unless both teams agree to a variation and call me to confirm it).
Please remember that the day following
the dates listed above should be reserved as a make-up date in the event of a weather postponement. U.S. Soccer
recommends that leagues schedule their league matches to allow at least two open days before and after each Open Cup
match date and make-up date. Please also be aware that the Men’s National Team will have games scheduled on
May 29 (friendly) and June 11 (WCQ at home vs. Panama), one day immediately before or after an Open Cup match date.
Should a non-MLS team reach the Final, we can consider rescheduling to an earlier date if we can find a break
in the participating teams’ schedules.
Regional Deadlines for other competitions:
Deadline
to enter the cups competition for all competitions except Men's Open is May 31st. State Winners must be determined
by Sunday, June 9th. If a state wishes to hold their competitions earlier than the regional deadlines, that is completely
up to the state. New forms will be added to the www.soccermidwest.us site in the next week.
Competitions will be
held in Overland Park, Kansas on June 28-30, 2013.
WORD OF WARNING: Have your state registrar check
out every single player on your roster before you send it to me. You must insist they get this done! Because of
the tight deadlines, I will not have time to check on the players and get back to you so you can make changes or try to clear your players. It is important to do this UP FRONT! Otherwise, your players may not be able to participate.
Help yourselves by taking this vital step to getting the information out.
If you have any questions, email me.
Please note that this year there will be no women's competitions at the regional level. If women want
to enter the new soccer festival, it will be held at the same dates and at the same location as our event, but it is not related to our event at all.

About the National Cups
The USASA National Cups program is the oldest and most
prestigious adult competition offered to all affiliated teams of the United States Adults Soccer Association. It is also
open to any youth soccer team whose players are registered with the United States Soccer Federation. Six divisions of competition are offered each year: Men's Open Cup, Men's Amateur Cup, Men's 0/30
Cup, Men's U/23 Cup, Women's Cup and Women's U/23 Cup. In addition, those teams who enter into the Men's Open Cup competition
are also entering the USSF Lamar Hunt Open Cup. This competition allows our adult men teams the possibility of playing the Major League Soccer (MLS) teams for the championship title.
For those NPSL or PDL teams wishing to participate in the USASA Werner Fricker Cup, the following guidelines apply:
1) If an NPSL or PDL team is also registered with a state association (or their "B" or "second"
team, etc. ) and plays in a league of four or more teams, then they may enter through the State Association. 2)
If an NPSL or PDL team is NOT registered with a State Association, then they must enter directly through the Regional Cup
Commissioner. If more than two teams in the same league enter, a play off game will be held to determine the league's
representative for the inter-regional games. 3) Entries and fees must be received prior to April 4. The
play off game must take place prior to April 25. 4). If an NPSL or PDL team (other than a separate "B"
or "Second" team) is a top two finalist in the Regional Open Cup, they will not advance as our regional
entry into the Lamar Hunt Open Cup. They will continue in the Lamar Hunt Open Cup through their respective league, if
qualified. 5) The Region Final of the top two teams will be played in Overland Park, Kansas at the Regional Finals. The
winner of the Regional Finals will play the winners of the other three regions for the Werner Fricker Cup at the National
Cup Finals in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
For various reasons (usually weather/fields related), the "Cups" year can begin in September
of the previous year in many of our states in Region II. Contact your state office now for more information.
